Virginia Soybean Association is proud to present six scholarships to deserving students in 2020, a year unlike any other we've ever seen!

In a year of much uncertainty, we are so pleased to announce this year's scholarship winners. This fantastic group of students hold impressive resumes, both inside the classroom and in their communities. Due to the pandemic and the many challenges placed upon our students this year, members of the Virginia Soybean Association were pleased to offer a total of $4,500 in scholarships in 2020.

Congratulations to our 2020 Virginia Soybean Association Scholarship winners!

Wade Reiter,
Virginia Tech


Dinwiddie, VA
Wade has worked on his family farm for 12 years, along with a host of other agricultural jobs and internships. He plans to pursue a career as an agronomist or work in soil & water conservation. Wade earned the $1,000 Virginia Soybean Association undergraduate scholarship.

Lindsey Bowers,
Virginia Tech


Monroe, NC
Lindsey attended NC State University and is pursuing her Master's Degree in Crop & Soil Environmental Science at Virginia Tech. She's currently researching variable rate seeding strategies under Dr. David Holshouser. Lindsey earned a $1,000 graduate degree scholarship.

Regan Allen,
Virginia Tech


Champlain, VA
Regan is actively involved in her community and hopes to become a Physical Therapist. Her goal is to return to her farming community to open a practice that focuses on rural health and athletic issues. Regan earned a $500 undergraduate scholarship.

Megan Pollok,
Virginia Tech


Danville, VA
Megan plans to major in Crop & Soil Environmental Science at Virginia Tech. She works on her family farm working to expand her knowledge in certified seed production and hopes to pursue a career as a plant geneticist or plant breeder. Megan earned a $500 undergraduate scholarship.

Bailey Watson,
Virginia Tech


Max Meadows, VA
This young lady is going places! At Fort Chiswell High School, Bailey held leadership positions in FFA and SCA, and actively participated in various other clubs and athletics. Bailey owns her own beef cattle herd, while helping out with other aspects of the family farm. Bailey earned a $500 undergraduate scholarship.

Allison Reiter,
Southside Virginia Community College


Dinwiddie, VA
Allison works on the family farm raising row crops, cattle, and vegetables. She hopes one day be an Agriculture Teacher or 4-H Extension Agent in hopes of advising the next generation of FFA and 4-H leaders. Allison earned a $500 associate's degree scholarship and plans to attend Southside Virginia Community College and then transfer to Virginia Tech to pursue a degree in Agriculture Education.

Jayson Gill,
Virginia Tech


Lancaster, VA
Jayson is pursuing dual degrees concentrating in Agronomy and Agribusiness Management. Jayson is a fifteenth generation farmer who's helped on his family's farm since childhood, while volunteering in the community through his church and local volunteer fire department. He hopes to be a vocal advocate for Virginia's agriculture, through pursuing an agribusiness or agronomy career. Jayson earned a $500 undergraduate scholarship.
